Earlier this month, and to everyone’ relief, the Mercedes-Benz truck maker stated that the chip shortage problem was beginning to ease off to which Daum remarked that shortages of other parts are continuing to cause production issues across its international network of factories, not to forget, inflationary pressures introducing challenges of its own.

However, the story is not all grim as Daimler Truck still reported an 8% year-over-year increase in first-quarter sales last month as it sees pent-up demand for some 200,000 trucks in the US alone.
