Mahindra Logistics intends to establish excellence-focused community centers around the country - Supply Chain Tribe by Celerity

In order to address the lack of skilled workers in the logistics industry, Mahindra Logistics Limited, a leading provider of integrated logistics solutions, and the Logistics Skill Council, a not-for-profit organization established by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, plan to establish Community Centers of Excellence (CCoE) across the country. These centers will create job opportunities for the recipients while offering them skill development training and certification in transportation, warehousing, and other supply chain operations.

Mahindra Logistics started its first CCoE in Bhiwandi during the first phase, and in Q1FY25, it will establish another one in Guwahati. Together, the two centers hope to train more than 500 people in FY25, including women, people with impairments, LGBTQIA+ people, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Rampraveen Swaminathan, MD and CEO of Mahindra Logistics, commented on the establishment of the first Community Centre of Excellence in Bhiwandi, saying, "Mahindra Logistics is dedicated to empowering communities and fostering inclusive development." Through education, skill innovation, and placement, we are dedicated to filling the gaps in the talent ecosystem and making a positive impact on society. In addition to helping to alleviate the skilled labor shortage, our partnership with the Logistics Skill Council is well-positioned to lead a radical change in the industry's dynamics. This program will meet the demand for qualified labor in the logistics industry and integrate thirty percent of the workforce into our daily operations.

The Mahindra Logistics Community Centre of Excellence facilitates the provision of training modules that combine academic knowledge with actual hands-on experience to equip the semi-skilled and unskilled workers in India's logistics sector. Over 22 million people in India make their living from the logistics sector, which is one of the biggest employers in the country. Providing training and certifications related to the logistics sector will guarantee its continuous expansion.
