In the presence of Shripad Y Naik, MoS, Sudhansh Pant, Secretary, and other senior officials, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday inaugurated the App Version of National Logistics Portal (Marine) "Sagar-Setu."
A Login Module, Service Catalogue, Common Application Format, Letter of Credit, Bank Guarantee, Certification, Track and Trace, etc. are just a few of the deliverables that have been planned for the app.
It will give instant access to real-time information on operations including vessel-related information, gate, container freight stations, and transactions that are often out of reach for importers, exporters, and customs brokers.
Also, it facilitates digital transactions for payments necessary for the import and export clearance procedure, such as container freight station fees, shipping line fees, transportation fees, etc.
"The SAGAR-SETU app of the National Logistics Portal (Marine) will allow custodians in quicker access to features on a mobile device," Sonowal said when introducing this app. Data mobility will be made possible via mobile apps so that port and ministry authorities and other stakeholders will have instant access to approvals and monitoring.
The SAGAR-SETU APP will help traders and improve convenience with the quicker turnaround for clearance and compliances, according to the Ministry for Port Shipping and Waterways. Improve tracking and operation visibility.
According to the government, the app would enable service providers maintain records and transactions and get notifications of service requests.
It is important to note that the National Logistic Portal Marine was planned to launch in January 2023 by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping Waterways, and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The SAGAR-SETU app, which would increase marine trade and consequently strengthen the nation's economy, was released in less than two months.
