FitFlop's new logistics operations are ideally situated inside Ryder's recently constructed 700,000-square-foot multiclient warehouse facility in Columbus, Ohio, one of the fastest-growing large metropolitan areas in the country. This area has access to 80% of the US population within two days via standard ground shipping, and it has more Americans within 500 miles than any other major inland or coastal port.

A more effective facility with quicker fulfilment times and more storage is available to FitFlop. Other advantages include the capacity to rate shops and increase transportation capabilities across its omnichannel business, expedited returns processing, Foreign Trade Zone optimisation, and enhanced supply chain resilience thanks to Ryder's dependable and adaptable North American transportation network.

According to Jeff Wolpov, senior vice president of e-commerce at Ryder, "The FitFlop team has been deliberate in finding fulfilment partners with proven experience in their product category, as well as the strongest possible handle on the local market." "In every way and everywhere, Ryder is prepared to support FitFlop in achieving scaled omnichannel success. With Ryder's broad technology suite, wide-ranging nationwide distribution network, best-in-class warehouse management techniques, and end-to-end transportation logistics solutions, we anticipate the company's continued success.

Not only will this help FitFlop expand into new markets, but Ryder and the footwear company also hope to improve the quality of service FitFlop offers to its omnichannel clients, which include big-box stores, independent stores, FitFlop's flagship location in Soho, New York, and online shoppers. This will be accomplished by having a dependable local logistics partner who has experience working with brands to smoothly adjust to growth, changes in the market, and seasonality.

Sal Billington, head of global logistics for FitFlop, says, "We worked with Ryder on what was a challenging timeline involving a lot of work across the holiday period and New Year to check we were set up for a February go-live." "To achieve the seamless deployment we experienced, both firms put up an amazing amount of work. We appreciate the efforts of all those involved; this will provide our U.S. business with a strong foundation of omnichannel services going forward.

Because of the Columbus area's very central U.S. position and close proximity to important transportation hubs and population centres, Ryder now maintains four multiclient distribution centres there. Furthermore, Ryder runs about 300 warehouses totaling over 100 million square feet in North America. With its e-commerce division, Ryder can deliver goods to 60% of the population in a day and 100% of the population in two days.
