This week, supply chain and third-party risk AI startup Exiger announced that Versed AI would be acquired. Versed AI is an artificial intelligence (AI) company that was founded out of the Language Technology Lab at the University of Cambridge. Its technology speeds up the extraction and aggregation of multi-tier supplier networks, the creation of automated bills of material (BOM), and the generation of proprietary value chain graph data.
Versed AI has been integrated into Exiger's supply chain management platform, giving Exiger customers access to unparalleled improvements in supply chain tracing, orchestration, and mapping, enabling them to quickly increase multi-tier visibility.
"In order to meet daily operational and regulatory requirements like tariff analysis, alternative vendor sourcing, forced labor checks, environmental impact assessments, and CSDDD compliance, procurement and supply chain professionals across the public and private sector are overwhelmed by the amount of data they have to navigate," stated Exiger CEO Brandon Daniels in a media statement. "With this acquisition, we can now provide a beautifully straightforward answer to those problems."
Exiger uses unique data derived from open source content and BOMs to provide quick, precise, and sophisticated supplier mapping and risk analysis solutions. The ability of Versed AI to further streamline this offering frees up procurement teams by removing the requirement for technical data packages or BOMs. Versed AI synchronizes the dissection of a single product into its component pieces, generating a synthetic bill of materials (BOM) for highly relevant, product-specific supply chain mapping by extracting supplier relationships and other insights from publically available metadata.
Daniels continued, "With this capability added, the offerings of Exiger are complete." "It develops an innovative multi-tier visibility system that is comprehensive, self-governing, and globally implementable for any business and any product in a value chain, enabling clients to evaluate the effects of events in their supply chain within minutes and take well-informed decisions that optimize value and minimize risk."
Versed AI co-founder and CEO Fenella Boyle expressed her excitement about the disruptive force that comes from merging Exiger's best-of-breed capabilities with Versed AI. "After analyzing the competitive environment, we are confident that our technology will be most effective when integrated into Exiger's industry-leading artificial intelligence and used by their sizable and quickly expanding clientele."
Exiger has started incorporating the technologies into UX 1Exiger and its supply chain platform. Through this integration, Exiger's dataset will be improved, and Supply Chain Explorer and SDX's operational and multi-tier visibility capabilities will be strengthened, resulting in quicker and more complete solutions. Customers of Exiger will have immediate access to the new features.
Exiger CPO Brendan Galla stated, "We're always looking for ways to deploy new technologies to solve the supply chain problems our clients are struggling with." "Versed AI's domain knowledge and technological prowess will be a huge asset to Exiger and have a direct effect on our clients."
Dr. Simon Baker, CTO and co-founder of Versed AI, said, "We're excited to join an organization that shares our commitment to developing exceptional technology - not only to satisfy and streamline day-to-day business demands but to make the world more ethical and transparent."
In this purchase, Exiger received financial advice from Union Square Advisors LLC. Dechert provided legal advice.
Exiger and aDolus Technologies established a collaboration in March to offer comprehensive and in-depth insight into supply chain issues related to software. Through the integration of aDolus' software intelligence application and Exiger's supply chain AI platform, essential industries will benefit from increased cyber defenses and deeper insight.
