The Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Institute of Logistics jointly announced on Wednesday the opening of a two-year full-time residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program in logistics and supply chain management.

The program, which is slated to start in the academic year 2024–2025, intends to give students practical knowledge of the supply chain and logistics domains, illustrate value addition through efficient LSCM practices, analyze LSCM data to make well-informed decisions, integrate ESG concepts, and highlight technological advancements in logistics solutions.

The instructors and specialists that create the curriculum have vast backgrounds in logistics. Through guest lectures, company visits, internships, and management projects, it also offers industry involvement. Senior business executives will mentor students to improve their industrial readiness.

"Logistics is an international field. India is a high-growth nation, thus participation in international value chains is essential. The CII Institute of Logistics thinks that collaboration with academic institutions has enormous benefits. As the head of the Institute of Logistics CII and executive director, K V Mahidhar stated, "We aim to cultivate a culture of innovation and excellence, driven by the collaboration between academia and industry."

According to IMT Director K Sriharsha Reddy, the IMT suggested launching the program with a 30-student initial admission.
