BMF welcomes Taylor Wimpey Logistics - Supply Chain Tribe by Celerity

The supply chain logistics division of Taylor Wimpey UK, Taylor Wimpey Logistics (TWL), has become an Affiliate Member of the Builders Merchant Federation (BMF).

One of the top national home builders in the UK, Taylor Wimpey operates locally out of 22 regional companies with the goal of building fantastic homes and vibrant communities. The business supplied more than 10,000 homes to clients in 2023.

"We are looking forward to working with the BMF which shares our values and ambitions to help accelerate the industry's transition to more sustainable building materials and operational practices in the drive to achieve net zero," stated David Gooderham, director of TWL Logistics.

TWL is an essential part of the business' supply chain since it sources bulk supplies in order to produce "just in time" build-pack deliveries to construction sites for every phase of the building process. They use carefully sourced materials from a small number of suppliers, giving preference to those with low environmental effect and low embodied energy. The business unveiled its Net Zero Transition Plan in 2023, setting lofty goals to achieve net zero throughout its value chain by 2045.

"We are delighted to welcome TWL into membership," stated BMF CEO John Newcomb. For the goods and materials produced by our members, housebuilding is a major market. Our agenda places a strong priority on sustainability, and supply chain cooperation will be crucial in creating industry-wide guidelines, best practices, data, and education
