Adani Logistics executes first containerised Grain Rake Movement - Celerity Supply Chain Tribe

Adani Logistics successfully executed its first containerized grain rake movement for the Food Corporation of India (FCI) from Ludhiana, Punjab, to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This milestone modernizes India’s agri-logistics by ensuring safer, more reliable, and efficient rail-based transportation for essential commodities, reducing handling losses and strengthening the nation's supply chain.

Key highlights of this achievement include:

• Enhanced Efficiency: The move improves on traditional bulk transport by using containers, which protects the foodgrains and reduces transit losses.

• Strategic Route: The inaugural rake operated from Ludhiana (a major farm belt) to Ahmedabad, showcasing improved connectivity between procurement centers and consuming regions.

• Modernizing Agri-Logistics: This initiative aligns with national goals to upgrade foodgrain transportation infrastructure, supporting sustainable and secure supply chains.

• Role of AALL: The movement is part of a broader push by Adani Agri Logistics Limited (AALL), which uses hub and spoke silo complexes to improve procurement speed from days to hours.

This milestone reflects Adani Logistics' growing role in transforming food security logistics through technology and infrastructure.
