The French logistics giant CMA CGM and the renowned Italian intermodal provider GTS General Transport Service announced the formation of a joint venture to provide dependable, reasonably priced, and carbon-neutral logistics and transportation services throughout Europe and Italy.

According to a press statement from CMA CGM, "The joint venture, European Container Network, will combine the expertise and resources of both companies to provide innovative and sustainable transportation solutions to any containerized business in Italy and Europe."

The joint venture will provide integrated door-to-door transportation services to the entire market, improving efficiency and lowering carbon emissions, by utilizing GTS's assets, expertise, and network throughout Italy and now in other European countries, along with CMA CGM's global shipping capabilities, the release continued.

The joint venture's main objectives are to increase the availability of multimodal transportation options, streamline supply chain operations, and spur innovation in the transportation sector. The partnership is committed to sustainability and will give priority to eco-friendly practices and technology in order to reduce their negative influence on the environment.
